Caller reports that an individual at the Northshore precinct in Rankin County whose name was not on the poll books was advised by an official that he could vote by affidavit, "but it probably would not count." The individual left without voting.
The individuals who post to this blog are interested in elections that are conducted fairly, lawfully and without intimidation or other efforts to suppress all Mississippi citizens' right to cast their votes -- whether they reside in the 601, 662 or 228 area codes. We believe that by providing live, from the field, reports during election day, more Mississippians will be enlightened about the voting process as it is actually implemented in this state.
